Abstract


A set is a group of elements which has definite and clear conditions. A set with n-elements can be divided into sets of nen-empty proportions using numbers of methods (Bn Methods). The Number or Bn, known as Bell Numbers, can be defined as additions of the second Striling using Dobinski Formula. This study is aimed at improving the comprehension of the second semester students of Mathematics Department of Muhammadiyah University of Jember toward Set Theory Subject. The study applies the Action Research Cycles. The result of the study shows that 87,5% of students are able to complete the task of set theory subject, while 12,4% of students are not able to complete their tasks. It means that the teaching and learning on the set the division using the second Stirling Number can improve the students’ comprehention toward the subject.
