Abstract

ABSTRACT

Trade or exchange may be interpreted as a process of exchange based on the voluntary will of each party. Each party shall have the freedom to determine the profit and loss of such exchanges, in the light of their respective interests and then determine whether or not to exchange or  not  (Boediono,  2000).  The  textile  industry  which  is  currently  the  mainstay  product  of Indonesian exports, is basically a series of integral production processes from upstream industry, middle  to  downstream  industries.  Upstream  industrial  output  will  be  an  input  for  more downstream industries (Anwar and Aziz, 1987: 118). Analysis of the textile industry in Indonesia in this study will only look at the development of four types of branches of the textile industry, namely fiber making industry, spinning industry, weaving industry and apparel industry. The type of data in this study is secondary data and in the form of time series data that can be obtained from the study of literature of Bank Indonesia, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), as well as search on various internet sites. Periodasi data in this research is during the period of 2000-2013.

This analysis will be applied to the textile product and textile product (TPT) product group based on  International Standard  Industrial  Classification (ISIC)  321  which  will  be  converted  into Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) 651, 659, 845, 846. Based on the analysis data and discussion described in chapter 4, conclusions are obtained: Intra-textile trade intensity between Indonesia and Cina, 2000-2013 based on ISIC 321 category (textile industry) is obtained between Indonesia and Cina with intra-industry trade category , because the overall index of intra-industry trade was 53.9%;
