Support at work and home as a predictor of work life balance
Abstract
Studi ini berutujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dukungan dari dua domain, yaitu; dukungan di domain pekerjaan dan domain keluarga terhadap work-life balance karyawan. Secara khusus, ini membahas empat peran dukungan sosial yang berbeda yang secara teoritis dan empiris memiliki dukungan untuk work-life balance karyawan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Bank Kantor Wilayah Surabaya. Penyebaran kuesioner dilakukan dengan menggunakan google form, sebanyak 168 karyawan telah menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diolah menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) untuk menguji hipotesis yang ditawarkan pada studi ini. Hasil temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa dukungan sosial di tempat kerja yang meliputi; supervisor support, co-worker support, organizational support, dan family support memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap work-life balance. Lebih khusus dukungan supervisor memberikan pengaruh lebih besar dalam temuan ini. Keterbaruan dari penelitian ini adalah topin ini sebenarnya bukanlah topik pertama yang membahas pengaruh dukungan sosial di tempat kerja dan keluarga terhadap work-life balance, namun sejauh yang kami tahu penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pertama yang meneliti di perbankan, sehingga ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi penelitian masa depan yang ingin mengambil topik dan objek yang memiliki karakteristik sama seperti yang telah dikaji dalam penelitian ini.
