THE VIRTUAL WEBBOARD

Abstract
Whiteboard is one of the media to illustrate knowledge to the student. However, whiteboard only seen by teachers and students in the same room, but learning system has evolved into distance learning. Media learning technology developed to improve the quality of students' absorption. To help distance learning we develop virtual board and expected of teachers and students who are in distance learning can see the same whiteboard
This virtual board developed using software development methods. We develop as teachers and students culturally appropriate in the use of whiteboards in the classroom. We purpose the no distance problem between teachers and student and learning process can be held as in the same room.
This virtual board called the Virtual Webboard. Virtual Webboard developed a web-based so it can be accessed from anywhere at any time. Many features accessible in virtual webboard.Virtual Webboard editing features facilitate with write, typing, drawing, erase, select font, select pen. To the more advance use of virtual board is equipped with chat features and sharing the graffiti boards to social media.

SUPER (a; d)-EDGE ANTIMAGIC TOTAL LABELING OF CONNECTED SUNFLOWERS GRAPH

Abstract

A graph𝐺 of order 𝑝 and size 𝑞 is called an(𝑎,𝑑)-edge-antimagic if there exist a bijection 𝑓 ∶ 𝑉(𝐺) ∪ 𝐸(𝐺) → {1,2,…,𝑝 + 𝑞}such that the edge-weights𝑤(𝑢𝑣) = 𝑓(𝑢) + 𝑓(𝑣) + 𝑓(𝑢𝑣), 𝑢𝑣 ∈ 𝐸(𝐺), form an arithmetic sequence with first term term 𝑎 and common difference𝑑. Such a graph𝐺is called super if the smallest possible appear on the vertex labels. In this paper, we study super(𝑎,𝑑)-edgeantimagic total labeling connected properties of Sunflowers. The result shows that Sunflowers Graph admit a super edge antimagic total labeling for 𝑑 ∈ 0,1,2.

PROFILE OF MENTAL COMPUTATION OF ELEMENTARY PRE-SERVICE TEACHER ACCORDING TO REFLECTIVE-IMPULSIVE COGNITIVE STYLE

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe mental computation ability of elementary pre-service teacher with reflective-impulsive cognitive style. Twentyeight juniors in Jember University participated in this study. All of the juniors were tested on Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT). Two juniors were chosen, based the test result, as subjects of the research. They were classified as a junior with reflective cognitive style and a junior with impulsive cognitive style. The subjects were tested in an oral mental computation test. The test contains 4 items for additions, subtractions, multiplications, and divisions in whole numbers. Findings were analyzed with qualitative methods. At the end of the research, a subject with impulsive cognitive style showed a better result than reflective cognitive style. When computation strategies were analyzed, it was found that a subject with reflective cognitive style used standard method that were heavily influenced by written algorithm and only had one strategy to answer the problem, meanwhile impulsive subject used non standard method without reformulation and gave alternate strategy to answer the problem. Despite of that, the alternate strategy used by impulsive subject were influenced by written algorithm.

THE STUDY OF BASIL FLOWER ATTRACTANT (OCIMUM BASILICUM) TOWARDS FRUIT FLIES AS BIOLOGY LEARNING RESOURCE IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Abstract
Biotechnology is one of the Biology subject at the vocational school (SMK) in the field of Agribusiness and Agrotechnology program. In contrast, the fact indicates that these topics are taught by lecturing method and the teachers only used student’s handbook as the learning resources. Moreover, teachers are seldom using current research as learning resources. One of them is the Basil flower (Ocimum basilicum). This qualitative descriptive study is aimed to analyze the potential of the attractant compound Basil flower as a learning resource for Biotechnology subject in SMK. The curriculum analysis is done by adjusting the process and research product with the core curriculum standards in 2013. Based on the analysis of processes and products (facts, concepts, principles and procedures) study, the results of the research on attractant compound Basil flower (Ocimum basilicum) toward fruit flies can be used as a Biology learning resource of 11th grade at KD. 3.6 Curriculum 2013 SMK.

TEACHERS’ ADOPTION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ECONOMICS INSTRUCTION

Abstract
This research has been meant to (1) describe the adoption of ICT in economics instruction, (2) discover the influence of the characteristics of innovation variables to the adoption of ICT, (3) discover the influence of the environment variables to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction, (4) discover the influence of the affective variable to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction, and (5) discover the influence of the demographic variables to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction. This research employed the combination of the quantitative and qualitative approaches known as the mixed method. The qualitative data were results of interviews with economics teachers, economics instruction supervisors, students, school principals, and on-service-teacher trainers. The qualitative data were analyzed qualitatively through the steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results showed the following conclusions. First, most teachers often employed information and communication technology in economics instruction. Second, the ICT adoption models which contain the innovation characteristics variable, the environment variable, the affect-towards-use variable, and the demographic variable worked well in explaining the diversity of the adoption in economics instruction. Third, the variables in the group of characteristics of innovation variable which had significant influence to the adoption of ICT were voluntariness, relative advantage, result demonstrability, and ease of use. Meanwhile, those which did not have significant influence were those of compatibility, image, trialability, and visibility. Fourth, all variables in the group of environment variable which consisted of social influence facilitating conditions had significant influence to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction. Fifth, the variable of affect toward use consisted of the feeling of liking and the feeling of interest had significant influence to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction. Sixth, the group of demographic variable was not good predictors in relation to the adoption of ICT in economics instruction. None of the five sub-variables in the demographic variable, which consisted of school status, age, gender, experience and duration in training participation, had any significant influence in the adoption of ICT in economics instruction.

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY THROUGH WRITTEN FEEDBACK

Abstract
This research was conducted to solve the problem faced by second language learners (L2), especially in writing since it has been a big problem which puts students into trouble as shown by errors made in organizing the composition and the language. The problem is stated as how the implementation of written feedback can improve the tenth grade students’ writing ability. The objective of this research is to find out written feedback can improve the Tenth Grade Students’ Writing Ability at MA Ma’arif NU Kencong in the 2015-2015 Academic Year”. This research was Classroom Action Research. The data was taken from observation and test and was analyzed using formula M = ΣX/N. The result showed that written feedback improves the students’ writing ability both the score and the active participation by giving valuable feedback in the form of symbol and abbreviation, and they can independently revise their writing from the feedback given by the teacher. It could help to remind the students’ errors that had been made when they are writing.

SUPPORTING EDUCATORS TO FURTHER DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ WRITING THROUGH TALK FOR WRITING APPROACH

Abstract
It is a must for educators to overcome several problems dealing with teaching writing. We have to consider the students of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). They are not as good as the native speakers in writing and are not as fluently as the native speaker in speaking. Thus, the educators must scaffold the learners. Moreover, educators must provide the material and prepare the classroom to make the learners absorb the material. This research attempt to find out how Talk for Writing approach can support educators in developing students’ writing in junior high school level. Teacher can come up with daily oral retelling, asking the learners to read the example, guiding them to make temporary writing, and finally, giving them opportunity to set up the permanent writing. The educator’s role is as the facilitator and motivator. By doing so, the learners will learn step by step and learn several skills as well.

IMPROVING THE STUDENTS’ SKILL IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT USING THE POWER OF TWO STRATEGY

Abstract
Writing is one of important skills that need long process to construct sentences and ideas. But students still get problem in writing, therefore it is important to do the research entitled “Improving the Students’ Skill in writing Descriptive Text by Using the Power of Two Strategy”
In this research, the aim is to find out how the use of The Power of Two strategy can improve students’ descriptive writing ability. The kind of the research was CAR. The subject of the research was VIII F class. To obtain the research data, test and observation were used
The result showed that the students’ average score in cycle one was 78 while in cycle two was 83. Beside 69.17% of the students were active in cycle one and 88.45% in cycle two. Based on the result it can be concluded that the use of The Power of Two strategy can improve the students’ descriptive writing ability at SMPN 1 Jambesari Darussholah in 2015/2016 academic year.

Abstract
Many students find speaking as one of the most difficult skills in English. Therefore, the researcher wants to improve the students’ speaking ability through the suitable teaching method, in this case is Role Play. The problem in this research is “how can the use of role play improve students’ speaking ability of the seventh grade students of Darul Mahdeeyah Private School Songkhla Thailand in the 2015/2016 academic year?” And the objective of this research is to find out how role play can improve the English speaking ability of the seventh grade students of Darul Mahdeeyah Private School Songkhla Thailand in 2015/2016 academic year. Based on the research problem and the relevant theory, the hypothesis of this research is described as follows: Role Play can improve the seventh grade students’ speaking ability at Darul Mahdeeyah Private School Songkhla Thailand in the 2015/2016 Academic Year because by using role play method, students become more active in participating the class. The design of this research is classroom action research. The research subject is seventh grade students that consisting of 16 students. Test and observation are used to obtain the data. Role Play method improves the students’ speaking ability in two cycles. The difference in each cycle is the researcher gives dialog to the students and teaches new vocabulary and how to pronounce words properly. It can be concluded that Role Play is able to improve the students’ speaking ability and students’ activeness in participating the class.

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ LISTENING COMPREHENSION BY USING DICTOGLOSS TECHNIQUE AT DARUL QUR’ANILKARIIM SCHOOL NARATHIWAT- SOUTH THAILAND

Abstract
This study aims at finding out how the use of Dictogloss Technique improves Thai students’ listening comprehension. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in DarulQur'anilkariim Narathiwat-South Thailand. The subjects of the study are Thai students of class 6/1 at the school.The implementation of the technique was by building background knowledge about the text to be studied, then introducing some new vocabulary related to the text, dictating the material, and giving students time to record important matters when dictated.The data were collected from listening comprehension tests and were analyzed by using a qualitative approach. The result of the students’ listening comprehension improvement was as follows; the percentage of the students achieving the target score was 55% in the first cycle, and was improved into 75% in the second one.This leads to the conclusion that the students’ improved listening comprehension was because Dictogloss combines top-down and bottom-up processing which is appropriate with the students’ need.

Abstract
Speaking is important because it reflects to the student knowledge about English. Based on the result of preliminary study, most of them have problems with confidentiality, because they still have low competence in English speaking. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the STAD method to be taught in speaking class, because STAD can solve the students’ problem that is problem from themselves. Also, STAD helps students from their social life and relationships with others. STAD is one of method in cooperative learning that consist of five components in implementing the method, those are class presentation, team, quiz, individual progress score and team recognition.
The problem of this research is how can Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) improve tenth grade students’ speaking ability at SMKN 5 Jember in 2015-2016 Academic Year?, while the objective is to find out how STAD method can improve the speaking ability of the tenth grade students of SMKN 5 Jember.
In cycle 1, the percentage of students who could achieve the standard minimum score 70 is 51% and in cycle 2, the students who achieve the minimum standard score 70 is 82%.
Based on the research result, it can be concluded that STAD can improve the students’ speaking ability at SMKN 5 Jember by dividing the students into group that consist of 4-5 member, it represented the education level in each group and discussing with their group. The leader or the smartest of each group helped the member who had difficulties in some part of English speaking.

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ SIMPLE TENSES MASTERY BY USING ENGLISH SONG AT MA NURUT TAQWA CERME

Abstract
Simple tense is one of the essential skills that should be mastered by the students. The skill deals with knowing how to form sentence and use it in an appropriate way. In teaching and learning simple tenses process, the students are usually confused of rules. The students sometimes get bored in teaching and learning process employed by the teacher in teaching simple tenses. As a result, a lot of students have low scores on English caused by the failure in mastering simple tenses. One of the solutions to improve students’ simple tenses mastery is by using English song. It helps them to give motivation in learning English and memorizing the grammatical point through repetition of words in the song.
The research intended “To improve students’ simple tenses mastery at MA Nurut Taqwa Cerme Bondowoso. The design of the research was Classroom Action Research. The research covered four stages of activities, they were planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research subject was XIIPA class because their simple tenses scores were still low. The class consisted of 23 students. Test and observation used to collect the data.
The result of the score analysis was, the percentage of students who got score >70 was 45% in the first cycle. It means that the score of cycle one did not achieve the criteria of success. Therefore, it was necessary to continue the action into cycle two with some modification in implementing the action. The result of writing test in second cycle was 78% of the students could achieve the target score. It was not necessary to continue the action into next cycle because more than 70% students could achieve the target score. To sum up, the use of English song could improve students’ simple tenses mastery at MA Nurut Taqwa Cerme Bondowoso by filling the blank spaces with the correct to-be and verbs form.

A GUIDED INQUIRY APPROACH-BASED PHYSICS PRACTICE MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING SKILL

Abstract
This study aims to develop a guided inquiry approach-based physics practice model to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study refers to the research and development procedure model (R & D) by Borg and Gall. This study employs four phases namely specification, operationalisation, piloting, and revision. To get appropriate model, a try out was done based on five factors or steps which comprise (1) design, (2) subject of try out (research) (3) type of try out data, (4) instrumentt of data collection, and (5) technique of data analysis. The subjects of try out were 32 students which ware taken from the tenth grade student’s of MAN 2 Mataram. The techniques of data collection in this study were validation sheets, observation sheets, questionnaires and tests, while the technique of data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The model of being developed was analyzed by three (3) aspects, namely: validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The results of the validation of experts at 3.7 with a reliability of 96%, showing the developed model is valid. Based on the first trial, the implementation syntax developed model of the observer ratings obtained 97% done, it shows a model developed was practical. For N-Gain Student critical thinking skills after attending the learning physics practice models based guided inquiry 0.64 with moderate category, it demonstrates effective models developed for improving critical thinking skills. Based on the above results it can be concluded that the physics practice models based guided inquiry with a decent category.

MEDIA EXHIBITION IN THE BIOLOGICAL LEARNING PROCESS TO IMPROVE THE SCIENTIFIC SKILLS, CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION

Abstract
Biology has developed very rapidly in the XXI century and affect various aspects of human life. The biologicalprogress from time to time growing in terms biofunction, biodevelopment, bioenvironment, biotechnology, biomanagement and bioethic, which also carries a different direction of the biology education. Therefore, it is not wrong Naisbitt and Aburdene opinion of the XXI century as the century of biology. Change the position of biology is clearly a challenge for biologists and biology educators. To address these challenges, need to be prepared prospective teachers who excel and be able to compete , to have science process skills and innovative and creativity. Learning science especially biology are less likely to develop process skills, as a result of students being passive, boring and became less interested to learn in the end. Therefore, it is necessary for innovative efforts in order to study biology can go further to provide opportunities for students to be able to do science process skills. Media exhibition in learning biology is a public event that showcases real and student performance. The activity aims to apply science - biology products (concepts of biology, the process of science, (science process skills), as well as the scientific attitude. Through this exhibition is expected to develop various aspects of independence, creativity and innovative, producing and communicating the real work. From the study above, the idea of the exhibition media in learning biology is a focus on the exposure of this article.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING ASED ON NEMAN’S ERROR ANALSIS PROCEDURES IN MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS II COURSE

Abstract
The present study focuses on describing the undergraduate students’ error in solving mathematical word problems through the implementation of the cooperative learning based on Newman’s Error Analysis procedures. The subject of this research is second-year Mathematics Education students (students of class 4A). According to the aims, the type of the research is a classroom action research whose each cycle consists of four phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The action is held through the implementation of the cooperative learning based on Newman’s Error Analysis procedures which included five phases that were reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. The research is done in one cycle as the time limitation of the research then the researcher can’t continue to the next cycle. The collected data shows that the students’ errors in solving mathematical problems based on the Newman’s Error Analysis phases are encoding as much as 32.5%, process skills stands on 26.2%, transformation for 20.8%, comprehension as 12.6%, and reading as 7.9%. The other result is the average of students’ final score is 75.73 yet only 65.38% students who pass the minimum score, 65.
